Review date : 2008-06-02
I’ve had the regular Silverstars on my two previous trucks, and after owning my current truck for a year with stock bulbs, I decided to upgrade. Instead of going with the regular Silverstars again, I decided to give the Ultras a try. I only changed my headlights, but decided to wait on my foglights and see if I liked them. There’s a noticeable difference in color, it’s brighter, whiter, and a very crisp clean color, not too annoying. I’ve had them in for about 2 weeks, and have been bright lighted once on a dark 2-lane road. Now I need to go buy the matching foglight bulbs, and I would definately buy these again!

Review date : 2008-05-11
1996 to 1999 Chrysler/Dodge minivan owners have to live with weak headlight configurations. The overburdened single bulb provides both high and low beams in a poorly designed mirror/housing lens.

Over years the plastic lens fog/pit from road debris along with the OEM bulbs yellowing. Replacing the inexpensive (aftermarket /-$40) lens housing is relatively easy for the DIYer. Coupled with these Sylvania bulbs and one approaches the original brightness of showroom fresh headlight brightness. But do not expect more.

Review date : 2008-03-31
This headlights are far superior to my stock ones. They are definately brighter and have a bit of a blueish tint, but there’s no mistaking these with genuine xenon lights. But overall, very good for the money.

Review date : 2008-03-26
I had used SilverStars in my’03 Dodge Neon for three years. My son struck a deer and damaged the front driver’s side. When I got the car back from the shop I noticed a big difference in illumination on the driver’s side where the shop had replaced the SilverStar with a standard bulb. I ordered a twin pak of Ultras and they are great. Brighter and wider on low and have more penetration on high with a whiter light. I also have them in my Suzuki Vstrom motorcycle, I had to reaim because they were so bright the reflection frm road signs was distracting, I love ‘em

Review date : 2008-03-08
As it turns out, those dim yellow lights I had on my truck were also made by Sylvania. These silverstar Ultras are WAY better than those, and a good notch above the regular silverstars. Even though I heard PIAAs are longer lasting and even brighter, plus illuminate more of the road, these are doing a fantastic job and since January 1st, when I first installed them, I havent had one complaint. Just happy that I could see the road so much better!

Buying an automobile is one of the biggest purchases you might make in your entire lifetime. There are a lot factors to consider in making it a positive experience.

Decide first of all if your budget only allows for a used car. If this is the case then doing your homework is even more vital. Most times you don?t have the luxury of having the history of a used car. Having a licensed mechanic to check out a vehicle you are interested in can save you a lot of money in the long run. You can have a feel for a vehicle when you see and test-drive it but if the current owner won?t let you take it for a spin then I don?t recommend you buy it. Again, use a mechanics help. Also take into consideration that a lot of used cars won?t have a warranty. If it does not, you can still shop for one. It may be a hassle to go through the fine print but do it anyway.

In these economic times, buy only the car you need. With gas prices going out the roof you may not want to buy that big SUV unless you really need it to pull your boat or haul large equipment for work. Be honest with yourself. You may look at that Lamborghini and drool but it?s not going to carry you and the kids and your dog where you need to go. Also, I don?t recommend you get a 4 WD if you aren?t going off road. An AWD may be a better choice for you as it will be much more economical.

Depending on where you live, such as a warm climate or snow country, can help you decide what color of car you may want to buy. The warmer climate of the southern states can make very difficult to be in a dark colored car in the heat of the summer, therefore you may want to consider a lighter color for your vehicle.

And finally, car insurance. There can be a big difference in rates. Your little neon may be a lot cheaper to ensure then that luxury vehicle you have been so admiring.

I hope this helps.

Customer Reviews

Review date : 2008-07-31
I ordered two of a these units from "fjt3000". The first unit had a problem with the remote.. the seller replaced that unit and it’s working now.

The second unit started blowing it’s fuse the second day I had it (I replaced the fuse several times).. the seller did not offer to replace the unit, but said he would credit my Amazon account for the $15.xx, which he promptly did. He said he did not want to replace the unit. Currently his unit price increased to $60 on Amazon.

Both of the above units picked up ignition/alternator noise from the 4 different vehicles I used them in, a Ford Ranger, GMC Jimmy, Chevy Caprice. In the Honda Civic which has the radio antenna embedded in the rear window was not able to get a good signal from the MP3 player.

The "clamshell" the units arrived in were not sealed. I suspect the units were "seconds" for referbished.

Review date : 2008-07-01
got it to works well, plays very well, and haven’t had a problem since they helped me with a few minor problems.

Review date : 2008-06-30
This product seems to work very good for broadcating over FM. It sounds good and there are lot of stations to pick from. My only 2 complaints are when I use it with my MP3 Player. Hooking into the Headphone jack, it doesn’t come across very loud so you have to turn up the radio really loud (but I think this is because of the MP3 player not this transmitter, but I was hoping it would work better). My only other complaint is that my MP3 player charges off of USB and I was hoping I could plug my MP3 player into this and have it charge while I used it, but it doesn’t seem to provide enough current to charge it. Overall I would recommend it for the price. It works good.

Review date : 2008-06-25
The only problem is this sucker is not strong enough and all the frequency is overpowering it. Worst if your car antenna is at the back. The feature is great escpecially the equalizer but you better look for stronger modulator for extra bucks.

Review date : 2008-05-25
This FM Transmitter works well. I can hear a slight high pitch hiss at high speeds in my car, but it is not very noticeable at all. The remote was not working, but it was replaced by the seller quickly and the new remote he sent worked fine.

PROS: Accepts both USB flash drive and SD card for memory, has multiple channel tuning for large cities where it may be more difficult to find a non-used station, provides good sound quality over FM Transmission, and does not crackle at all.

CONS: When using the USB or SD card memory slots, you cannot start over from the same location where you stopped/turned off the car previously and you can’t even fast forward to the point you were at before you turn off the car or unplug the device from the power outlet. This is aggravating because you have to start all over on a lesson plan or song or whatever you are listening to from the beginning. It would be nice if you could fast forward (and reverse) through the file to where you wanted to be or if the device remembered where it was when it was turned off. Remote does not have a fast forward or reverse on it either - you are able to jump through files or go back through files - not through a file itself.

This flaw may be overcome by using an MP3 player attached to the device with the included 3.5mm audio cable. Then you could use your player to reverse or FF through the songs/files to get to where you want to be.

Review date : 2008-11-17
I wear a coat every day and this great tool helps keep my coats in great shape! Another nice thing is that your view is not blocked as it can be when you hang your coat from a hangar in the rear side window. I will be buying several of these for Christmas gifts for co-workers.

Review date : 2008-03-21
Great product. This keeps my jacket from getting wrinkled and I don’t have a hanger clanging on my coat hook
