Mobile Car Washing at Corporations

If you are considering a mobile car wash as a business, you may wish to wash where the most amount of high paying customer are. This would be at a modern day corporation. From 9 am to 11 am and from 1:30 pm to 4 pm you have an encapsulated market and steady customer base. But how will you go about selling such a great account? First schedule an appointment with the human resource director.

How do you get the name of the human resource director at the largest nearby corporations? Well sit down at Starbucks and wait until someone comes in with a name badge, read it, decide if you believe that might be a good company to wash at. Some corporations can generate $500 to $1000.00 per week for car washing and detailing depending on the days you choose for service and the weather. Ask the employee if they know the name of the Human Resource director and if they have on-site car washing there.

Here is a sample sales letter, which may help you get that account. I recommend you modify this letter to fit you business, call up the Human Resource Director and then fax it to them and ask for an appointment.

Attention: Human Resources

With unemployment rates this low throughout the area, employee retention and recruitment has become a major challenge. After discussing this situation with one of your Human Resource staff members recently while in line at Starbucks, we thought that mobile on site car washing might be an excellent addition to your current solutions. Have you ever tried to get your car washed during your lunch break? Forget it! Or on your day off, would you rather spend it with friends, family or washing that car?

I was told to submit a proposal to you company, attention Human Resources. We can wash all your employee’s cars each week for only $4.00. If you wanted to go deluxe we could give them a wash and vacuum for only $10.00. We can bill your company monthly.

This kind of program would certainly spark the interest of your employees who are challenged to maintain the high quality of life they were promised when they got that degree, moved to the area and picked your company as their number one choice of a great place to work. Employee relations must be maintained to keep productivity at an all time high and quarterly profits up. We want to be part of your team and help you achieve all your goals and objectives while simultaneously allowing your employees to feel that this is their family too. Such an employer sponsored incentive would be a major departure and upgrade from anything else being offered by any other progressive company in the area.

Let us know what you think. I know your staff member’s car was dirty, but judging by our conversation that day, I doubt if they’ve had time to wash it yet. So, maybe we can wash their car as a free demo. Looking forward to joining your team.

Carburetor Tuning

Carburetor servicing or tuning makes sure that all the parts are in working condition. There are several reasons why a carburetor may stop functioning or may not function to its full capacity, including gasoline resins or dust particles clogging the carburetor jets, gumming up of the throttles and stickiness of the choke valves. Carburetor parts are controlled by springs that may become worn out over time, which will affect the functioning of the carburetor. Tuning the carburetor from time to time will prevent its complete breakdown.

Tuning may involve replacing some of the parts that are available as carburetor kits. Tuning a carburetor ensures that the engine is in good working condition. Carburetors are affected by several conditions like unfavorable climate, different types of fuel, the terrain, and the type of riding. There is not time limit for carburetor tuning; it should be done whenever the ride was dusty or when the roads are muddy.

Carburetor tuning starts with pressure washing the bike, especially at the bottom where roost and oil is likely to accumulate. The sub-frame can be removed for better access. A look at the vent hoses would reveal any melting or clogging that might cause the engine to bog. Check the cable for any frays or kinks. Sometimes the rubber dust cover may be torn and may need replacement. Check the float bowl, jet baffle, float, airscrew, and the fuel inlet needle. Ensure that all these are in working condition, free of dust. Next, check the bell mouth of the carburetor to see that there is no clogging at the two holes at the bottom.

Flush the passage after dismantling the carburetor. This can be done by a can of brake or carburetor cleaner that is available in any automobile parts store. While spraying the cleaner, ensure that it flows out the pilot and the air passage in the bell mouth. Next, spray it through the tiny passage between the venture and the intake spigot. This will open any clogging along the passages, thus ensuring free flow of gasoline and air. Lastly, flush the slides bore and slide.

Jetting is the process of adjusting or changing the air or fuel jets. Before jetting, look for crankcase air leaks, crankcase oil leaks, coolant-system leaks, carbon-seized exhaust valves, blown silences, broken reed-valve petals, weak spark, clogged carburetor vent hoses, too low or too high carburetor float level, and worn carburetor fuel-inlet needle. There are certain things to be taken into consideration before jetting, including the air temperature, humidity, altitude, track conditions, fuel, and load. There are three types of carburetor tuning gauges including Relative-air-density (RAD) gauges, Air-fuel (AF) ratio meters and Exhaust-gas-temperature (EGT) gauges.

Carburetors provides detailed information about carburetors, carburetor parts, carburetor tuning, and more. Carburetors is affiliated with Car Transport.

Don Laughlin Private Classic Car Collection and Museum

Don Laughlin who is the owner of Don Laughlin’s Riverside Resort Hotel and Casino in Laughlin, NV has been a car buff for over 78 years. Don Laughlin and four of his buddies own these 85 cars on display. He also has several car collectors display their cars as well and they can sell them while on display.

One of the greatest things is that Don Laughlin also is in the detailing business and details his own cars, which rival the collection of the Harrah kids in Reno. Mr. Laughlin’s collection is just 12 cars shy of Jay Leno’s awesome collection in Southern California, which is also something to see. These old cars have many different paint jobs and many are actually original; also in his collection are two Deloreans, which are unpainted polished stainless.

Don Laughlin was not available to meet with us during our visit but the casino and collection employees treated us great and allowed us to ask questions about the collection and the future purchases for this article. The collection can be viewed and is free of charge, small children must be accompanied by an adult. Riverside Casino is the oldest casino in Laughlin and is under a massive renovation with a pedestrian bridge crossing the street to the RV park and new five level parking structure.
Laughlin Classic Cars is a separate company and is also a Nevada Registered Licensed Dealer-Collector-Sales Company.

We really enjoyed our trip to Laughlin Nevada and while you are there you can spend the day along the river and enjoy the many casinos there. Across the river on the Arizona side there is also Jet Ski rentals, camp grounds and places to eat. Of course while the kids are out having fun, I recommend the car museum.

Taking Care of Your Volvo’s Cooling System

All automobiles are equipped with an internal combustion engine. Put simply, the internal combustion engine converts fuel into motion so that the automobile can move. To create motion from gasoline, it has to be burned inside the engine, thus the term internal combustion. There are different types of internal combustion engines including diesel engines, gas turbine engines, HEMI engines, rotary engines, and two-stroke engines. But, whatever the type of internal combustion engine, one thing is common to all - all of them produce heat and waste gases and compounds. Overheating is one of the dangers of combustion. When this happens, the engine can break down if it cannot dissipate the heat that has built up in its chambers.

Temperatures inside the engine can rise to over 4,000 degrees Fahrenheit. Such a high temperature will put serious stress on the engine’s parts. The engine parts will have to work harder as the metal expands. The lubricant will also get thinner as the temperatures rise creating more friction between the metal parts in contact with each other. The pistons, cylinders and other essential parts of the engine is subjected to extreme stress if the heat does not escape. Thus, the cooling system of an automobile is very important.

The cooling system is composed of parts and devices, which dissipate the heat inside the engine. The job of a cooling system is to transfer the heat from the engine to the coolant. The coolant then passes through the car’s radiator parts at which point the heat is converted into air and is discharged out of the system. The radiator is one of the many important parts of a car’s cooling system. Its purpose is to dissipate the heat that the coolant has absorbed from the engine. It is constructed to hold a large amount of water in tubes and passages, which provide a large area in contact with the atmosphere. It usually consists of a radiator core, with its water-carrying tubes and large cooling area, which are connected to a receiving tank (end cap) at the top and to a dispensing tank at the bottom.

Side flow radiators have their “end caps” on the sides, which allow a lower hood line. In operation, water is pumped from the engine to the top (receiving) tank, where it spreads over the tops of the tubes. As the water passes down through the tubes, it loses its heat to the airstreams, which passes around the outside of the tubes. To help spread the heated water over the top of all the tubes, a baffle plate is often placed in the upper tank, directly under the inlet hose from the engine.

Radiators, as well as the other parts of the cooling system such as the fan, heater core, radiator cap, water pump and others are very important for the well-being of the automobile. Defective radiators should be replaced immediately so that the well-being of the cooling system and the entire engine is not compromised. Replacement Volvo Radiators are readily available from many auto parts stores. However, radiators are too important a part of any automobile that special attention must be taken as to its quality, durability and reliability.

Looking for excellent quality Volvo Radiators and other Volvo Parts need not be tiresome and costly. You can easily find the best Volvo radiators in one of the most respected auto information sites on the Internet. New Waterless Car Washing and Detailing Solution

Not long ago the hose, water, soap, Ajax, SOS pads and Windex were
the tools for our car washing and detailing needs. The process of cleaning
our vehicles was quite a drawn out affair. Today many people simply
drive through a local carwash and boom their finished. Recently, a waterless
car washing and detailing process was brought to my attention.

Occasionally and still today the urge to do the job rises and out come
the toys to do the job. When I was told about a waterless product
it naturally got my attention. I made arrangements to see the product
in action. A few days later I hopped into the car and met my friend for lunch.

The friend who called and told me about this process brought with him
a person that did a demo for me and answered my questions. I haven’t used
my normal toys and goodies since. I also discovered that this new process is
cheaper than the drive thru’s, easy to us and my vehicle looks absolutely
and surprisingly great!

My son bought me a small hand held mop and I occasionally dust the car
off. Frankly, that keeps my car looking nice and clean. As a senior I’ve pretty
much so thought I’d seen it all, but here again I’ve learned something new
about car washing and detailing.

Abandoning Auto Industry Car Models for New Hybrids

Why is the US Auto Industry so slow to change? Well there are many reasons for this and the biggest reason is that SUVs are very high-profit cars to sell. The average profit on an SUV could be five times that of a regular car and if the Automaker is to continue to impress Wall Street they need profits not just sales numbers. Currently in the United States they are selling approximately 17 million cars but there is no way they can sell 85 million cars and so if they do not have some high-profit sales in there, they cannot make their profit numbers.

Remember building cars is a business and that means that these giant corporations need to make money, as it is all about shareholder’s equity and quarterly profits and if they fail to hit their numbers the stock price will plummet and their credit rating will be junk. There are some major tough choices for the US Automakers and none of them right now look so enticing. But several of the choices down the road could be quite good for US Automakers and the country in the long run.

Many people are asking where are the US Automaker Hybrids? In fact I myself would buy one if they were available. Wouldn’t it be cool to have US Technology backing your car, which got some 80-100 miles per gallon and could run on gasoline or ethanol? That would be something and indeed it will happen, just not in the next few years that’s all. Consider all this in 2006.

How to Write a Classified Ad for Your Car - Part 2

In part 1 of this series I talked about some key points when advertising your car in classifieds. To get the most out of this final article in the series, I suggest you read Part 1 first.

Now, I promised I was going to give you a sample advertisement. So here goes.

The way I,m going to do it is to give you the ad first. See if you can work out why each element has been included and why? You should be able to do this if you have read and understood part 1.

*** 00 Ford Contour***
V6 2.5l,only 30k,1 female owner
n/smok,all pwr opt,auto,dual air,
exc cond,must see,must sell
$5100 call xxx-xxxx-xxxx

Now that looks harmless enough doesn’t it. A classified ad usually doesn’t have the punch that a full page ad can have or a TV ad.

But this is not a problem. Why? Because you are only really competing with other ads in a similar format. The only people putting better ads in than you are dealers and people looking at classifieds don’t want to buy from a dealer.

So in that little space is where you need to shine.

Ok, so let’s break it down.

The first line you have the little stars “***” and it’s in bold. That’s your attention grabber. It’s not huge but remember you only need to make it stand out in relation to other ads.

It also has the make, model and don’t forget the year - if you leave this out you are costing yourself inquiries.

Now, the next section “V6 2.5l” gives more specific info about the car. It’s the V6 2.5l engine version. More car identifying. It’s important to identify the car fully.

The next part - “only 30k” - states that it is low kilometres. Cars generally wear out faster the more they are driven. So this is a good selling point.

1 female owner - female drivers are statistically less hard on their vehicles than males. Good selling point so mention it. (For security reasons if you do this it is a good idea to have the car viewed off your property in a public place with a male to help you sell it)

“Non-smoker”- shows not just that you don’t smoke but that you are aware of the cleanliness factor in your car and hints that you most likely have kept it clean, without stating it.

“All pwr options” - more identifying data - has to be mentioned because it ads extra value. And the same goes for dual air - this adds the safety dimension.

“Exc Condition”- you basically have to make a statement of condition. A car in excellent condition has not been in an accident, has no rust, clean title and has had no bodywork. The paint looks new and interior is very clean. As well as being mechanically sound.

“Must See” and “Must Sell” - these little gems add a little bit of urgency. They work best in combination with this ad because the ad is for a pretty good car. If you were selling a wreck I wouldn’t use them.

Include the price

Now you must include the price in my opinion. I don’t have the space to go into why fully. It has to do with buyer confidence. He doesn’t want to have a price change done based on the sound of his voice or the way he dresses. It just takes one factor out of the buyer’s confusion.

The last part is the call to action. Pretty simple. Instead of putting the phone number alone, add the word “call” in front of it. People actually respond to direct commands to do things. It’s a principle of direct selling.

So that’s it. I hope that has been helpful.

Happy Selling

How To Find The Best High Performance Tires For Your Car For All Seasons

When you are driving around in your car, four things greatly impact your safety, your tires. And, unless you are lucky enough to live in the tropics, it’s pretty likely that the seasons change where you’re driving, bringing with them a shift in driving conditions. By purchasing a good set of all season tires you can avoid accidents and even save your own life! Good all season tires kept in good repair will keep your car hugging those curves and stopping on a dime, so it is of utmost importance that you acquire a set and maintain them properly.

To maintain your tires properly, you need to do more than simply replace them as their treads begin to wear down. Tire maintenance requires more than this of you, but nothing that is too strenuous once you understand what needs to be done. You have to rotate your all season tires as often as needed, so that the tires do not wear unevenly and maintain enough traction to ensure a sage ride. You should also drive in a way that does not damage your tires. That means, don’t drive too quickly on dirt or gravel roads, try not to run into curbs and sidewalks, and not taking turns too quickly. Turning too quickly is one of the things that wear out all season tires more than anything else, except perhaps skidding to a stop by applying the brakes too abruptly.

It is also necessary that you take your car into the shop for tire related maintenance. I can commiserate with care enthusiasts who would love to do everything themselves, who love to fiddle with this or that piece of their engine, change their own oil. Before getting started as a mechanic, I was just such an automobile do-it-yourselfer, and never went to a garage for anything that I didn’t think was completely necessary.

Tire installation though is not something that you should attempt to do yourself. It takes an expert to properly change tires. This is because of the precision adjustments that are involved. In order for tires to work properly, they all must be installed in a secure fashion. This means that they are all balanced, and you cannot ensure this without having specialized equipment.

Even though you might think, “sure, my car’s all season tires aren’t balanced, but it will still drive”, you shouldn’t drive around with unbalanced all season tires because that will make your car much less safe. Also, your tires will wear unevenly and have a much shorter lifespan, because more wear will be concentrated on less area. This, in the end, will cost you more money than it would just to have a professional install your all season tires.

Secrets to Buying Go Carts Cheap!

If you thought go carts were high-priced items, think again. Sure, you can go ahead and pay retail for a go cart, but why would you want to do that when you can buy go carts for up to 50% off the manufacturers price? Learn the secret to obtaining top go carts at bargain basement prices.

Go carts are fun, there is no dispute there. Once you slide into a sleek new go cart and take it out for a spin there is no turning back. If you are like many others the thrill of racing gocarts or traveling off road is something you cannot live without. The only problem is that they can be rather expensive to purchase. This is the reason you need to do your homework, so you can obtain the gocart that you thought was too expensive. If you have a little patience and are willing to put forth just a few hours of work you will be able to find a top go cart for as much as 50% off of the price that other uninformed people are paying.

Instead of renting or borrowing go carts you can own one of your own. Go carts are fun, there is no doubt about that. But you didn’t come here for that, you came here to pick up the tips and secrets to purchasing a top go cart for the lowest possible price. So let’s get started.

Finding cheap go carts is not as difficult as you might have imagined. In just a couple of minutes you will know everything you need to know about finding your dream go cart for a truly great discounted price. Finding go carts for sale at cheap prices is the easy part. The hard part is that you will have to wait two or three weeks before buying one. But if you can hold out that long you will be able to save some of your hard-earned money on your go cart purchase.

OK, so here we go. Buying a cheap go cart is really a very simple tactic. It’s called price shopping or price comparison shopping. All you do is compare prices for go carts from many different sources and then buy the cheapest one. It’s as easy as that. You just have to know the correct way to find your sources. With the proper technique you can find great deals that you might have missed otherwise.

Back in ancient times, before the internet, you would have to call up many different go cart stores or actually go out and visit them in person to get prices for their racing or off road gocarts. But the internet turns a two week job into a two hour job. It still takes a little work and some patience, but the savings you can realize will be well worth the time and energy spent.

First, go to Google.com and type ‘go carts,’ ‘go cart,’ ‘go cart sale’ or similar terms into the Google search box. You may also want to try different spellings such as ‘go karts,’ ‘go kart,’ ‘gocarts,’ ‘gocart,’ ‘gokarts’ or ‘gokart,’ whatever you feel is appropriate. You will be amazed at how many “go carts” results will pop up on your search. These days, anybody and everybody can offer their wares online. You will find many top online dealers for go carts with your simple search.

Some of the sites will not actually sell go carts, but will be informational sites only. You need to check out about 10 or 20 of the top online go cart dealer listings and keep a list of the different prices that they offer for the models that you are interested in. For example, if you want a Carter Brothers go cart you would perform your Google search for Carter go carts. Then write down the different dealer prices for the models you are interested in buying. Also, you will notice on the right side of the Google search web pages there are many sponsored ads. If you have searched for Carter go carts some of these sponsored ads will most likely be ads for Carter go carts. Companies pay a lot of money to advertise on Google. Many of these advertisements are from top online companies that will have great prices, so they should be checked out too.

Next, after you have searched Google and made a list of the different go cart prices for the models you like, do the same thing at Yahoo.com, Froogle.com and any other search engine you can think of. There are many search engines such as dogpile.com, altavista.com, lycos.com, excite.com and many more. Just type “search engines” into any search engine search box and you will find many others. You can also go to ebay and look for go cart auctions. Follow some of these auctions for a few days and you will quickly learn how much go carts are selling for.

The key is to search as many different online dealers as possible and make a list of the varying prices. It will only take tow or three hours to do this. Once you’re tired of being a detective put your pencil down and wait a week. Then do it all over again. After two or three weeks you will have found some great deals on go carts by simply doing your homework. Deals you might have missed if you did not put in the time and effort.

It’s simple. All you are doing is spending a little time locating all of the best prices you can find online. Then you’re keeping a list of these prices so that you can compare them. After a couple of weeks you should have a list of many top online go cart dealers and their prices for the go cart models you are interested in. It is easy now to go over your list and pick out the best deals. If you can save as much as 50% by doing a little homework and having a little patience it is well worth doing. And from this point on it’s all fun.

Larry Johnson is an amateur driver of go carts. He’s not a very good driver, but he has plenty of fun. He enjoys racing and off road go cart action. For more information about go carts please visit his site about racing go carts and off road gocarts.

Safe Driving

Handy Tips To Keep In Mind To Make Driving Enjoyable

  • It is better to get to your destination in one piece than never at all.

  • Think of your family and loved ones when you drive, will they get to see you again at the end of the day?

  • Life is precious treasure it.

  • Do not squeeze in more people than the number of seat belts there are.

  • Buckle up your seat belts and ensure that both the front and rear seat passengers buckle up theirs too.

  • Turn your head and check the blind side of your car to the lane that you are attempting to filter to.

  • If you drink, go public i.e. take a cab or the public transport or have your sober friends drive you back.

  • If you are stressed or tired, drive to the road shoulder or a car park and take a breather or a nap first. Alternatively, you could take a cab or the public transport or ask somebody to drive you home.

  • Check your eyesight regularly to ensure that you see well on the road.

  • Keep a pair of sunglass in the car compartment in case of direct strong sunlight.

  • While you are driving, refrain from fiddling with the audio system.

  • Never play music so loud that you cannot hear the environment. Someone may honk at you to warn you about something.

  • Do not overrun red lights.

  • Keep cool, if the driver behind keeps too close to your car indicating that he wants to overtake you, let him do so. Think positive, he may be in a hurry to go the hospital, his wife or her husband or kid may be ill or he may be rushing to the airport!

  • Stay away from a mad driver. He could drive you to your death!

  • In slow traffic, make sure that you pay full attention on the road and do not keep too close to the car in front of you.

  • Follow speed limits.

  • At a traffic junction, when the light turns green in your favour, do not speed off immediately. Instead check to see whether any car runs the red light from the side road.

  • Concentrate on the road, look frequently at your rear view and side view mirrors to ensure you know the traffic around your car. You may need to change lane if the car in front of you suddenly stop, but before you change lane make sure you know whether there is any car or oncoming cars on the lanes beside you.

  • Do not use the mobile phone, if you really have to use one, attach a hands-free kit.

  • Experience is the best teacher. New drivers should not try to overspeed. For e.g. an experienced driver will be able to correct a mistake like oversteering on a corner. A new driver on the other hand might swerve violently instead, endangering himself and others.

  • Tyres are important for providing control of the car especially in wet weather conditions. Check the tyres every two weeks when the tyres are cold. Wearing at the center of the tyre indicates over-inflation whereas wearing at the outer rim indicates under-inflation.

  • Keep your glove compartment stocked with a local street directory, flashlight and car owner’s manual.

  • Keep an emergency kit comprising a reflective triangle, first aid kit, gloves, jumper cables, tool kit, cloth, water etc. in your car. The most common reasons for car breakdown are flat tyres and batteries.

  • In case of breakdown, move your car to the side of the road and put up the necessary signage for e.g., the reflective triangle, giving ample notice to any oncoming car. If you intend to change your tyre, make sure you are not in the way of oncoming cars.

  • Check the brakes regularly.

  • To keep safe from air bags, wear the seat belt and sit so that one’s breastbone is at least 20 cm from where the air bags puffs out. Never put a child in the front seat, if this cannot be avoided, place your biggest child in front and slide the seat as far back as possible.

  • Child safety seat is the first choice for the child sitting on the back seat. Make sure you get the right size for your child.
