Car Warranty Quote

If you are buying a used car, or if your original factory warranty is over, you may choose to purchase extended warranty for your car. The costs of the warranty rely on many different factors like the car’s make and model, age, mileage, and other added features such as a turbo/super-charged engine, power steering, diesel engine, and the number of cylinders.

The car’s history is also a big factor when determining the cost and eligibility for warranty coverage. Also important is whether the car was used on a commercial basismeaning that the car was rented or used as a serviceand if it was assembled or built from scratch, as well as its purpose with the previous owners.

Before you request a quote from a warranty company and warranty brokers, it is very important to know your car. It is a must to give accurate and complete information to the company about your car, considering all of the information they ask for will have a determining factor on the quoted price. Forgetting to mention certain aspects in your car, such as a newly repaired tire rod or a previous accident can guarantee that it will not be covered by the warranty.

The quote will also be influenced by the length of the warranty coverage. The more months and/or miles the policy covers, the more it will cost. Since all policies are written in terms of whichever comes first, you should look into your driving habits when choosing the right type of warranty. The first thing you should do is determine how much driving do you do. An average person will drive 15,000 a year; therefore if you want to protect your car for three years, you should get coverage for a minimum of 45,000 miles.

There are many places where you could buy a warranty, but only a few places where they will give you a good price. Before you sign a contract, you should shop around. Looking at different companies and policies will guarantee that you will get your money’s worth. You should only deal with companies that have a high customer rating. This will assure that you do not get taken advantage of.

Cooling System How It Affects Your Mazda Car’s Performance

Just like human beings, the car needs to dissipate heat in order to avoid overheating and exhaustion. During combustion, the engine produces large amount of heatabout 4,000 degrees Fahrenheit. This is too much for the engine to bear so a cooling system is needed to keep it at a normal temperature. Cars usually overheat due to a damaged part in the cooling system, especially the radiator, the heart of the cooling system. It is therefore necessary that all its auto parts must be in proper working condition to ensure that the whole system works efficiently.

Aside from the radiator, the cooling system is composed water pump, freeze plugs, head gasket, thermostat, hoses, heater core, fan clutch and radiator fan. All these auto parts have special roles to perform thus the absence of one could significantly affect the whole cooling process and of course, the engine’s performance. Take for example the hose, this may seem to be just an ordinary part but once broken, the coolant can escape and so it’s no longer possible for the system to cool the engine. Even just the cap of the radiator is important. It holds the pressure in the cooing system; thereby, affects its stability.

How does the cooling system of your Mazda work? The coolant, which is a mixture of anti-freeze and water, is the one that absorbs the heat from the engine. It is drawn by the water pump from the radiator and is pumped through engine block and the cylinder head to absorb the heat from the engine and its parts. It goes back to the receiving tank of the radiator through the radiator hose. The radiator has tubes that contain large amount of water and has fin area to allow outside air to pass through. As the coolant spreads over the top of the radiator tubes, it transfers heat to the air.

The performance of your Mazda car is greatly dependent on your cooling system. No matter how gutsy its engine is, it can’t work normally without a cooling system. The engine can even be inutile in an instant if it overheats and all other auto parts under the hood can also be damaged. They could melt as the engine burns the fuel inside the combustion chamber and the pistons in the cylinder could expand extremely that they can no longer move to complete the whole process in the engine.

Your Mazda car can possibly overheat as well. Engine overheating is one of the most common problems auto users encounter. You can avoid this by adding water to your radiator. So if you notice a problem on a particular part in your cooling system, consult the best auto mechanic in town. But if you think the problem is worst, you may as well replace it right away.

Top 2 Reasons Why Auto Transport has Become Big Business - Fast

Is it me or am I the only one who was oblivious to the auto transport industry before 5 years ago? It appears to me that there are auto transport companies popping up all over the US, seemingly overnight. Where was this industry 10 years ago. In fact, I only first heard the term ‘auto transport’ about 5 years ago. There are a few reasons for this phenomenon. Not surprisingly, this has to do with the internet. What most people don’t understand about the web is that it has spawned entire new cottage industries that just weren’t all that big a decade ago. The auto transport business is a prime example of an industry like that has been rapidly tranformed (or ‘put on steroids,’ as a lot of my more colorful friends would say) by the web. Here are the two reasons why auto transport has taken off.

1)Ebay. Did you know that Ebay Motors is now the largest used car dealership in the world. Yes, Ebay sells more cars than anyone else on the planet. And Ebay wasn’t formed that long ago (late 90s if I’m correct). Well, chances are that if you want to buy a car, it probably isn’t going to be located anywhere near your present location. And your car has to get to the new owner somehow. That’s where auto transport companies come in. Ebay has been a shot in the arm to the auto transport industry. Now, when you buy a car, these companies arrange the vehicle to be delivered to you. Ebay is the one single company that has had a massive effect on the auto transport industry.

2)Increased mobility and price comparison ability. Besides Ebay, there are tons of other small car dealers and auto lots all around the country who have websites. They list their inventory and people from around the country (even around the world) can peruse the merchandise. If you like a car in Dallas and you happen to live in Philadelphia, you can have it shipped to you through an auto transport company.

The web has revolutionized many industries, auto transport being one of them. Learn all about auto transport and how to save on the fees by getting informed. Like anything, there is a right way and a wrong way to go about it.

Buy the Right Car, Save a Polar Bear

A recent series of news stories suggests that polar ice caps are melting “faster than expected,” and that this phenomenon may result in the extinction of one of humanity’s favorite animals, the polar bear. Apparently polar bears need to be able to migrate onto the ice to fish for food, and this shift in climate is already beginning to interrupt their ability to feed themselves.

Most rational scientists believe this shift in arctic climate is due to global warming resulting from the greenhouse effect, which is produced largely by automotive emissions. While some scientists are speculating that it may be too late to reverse the trend of global warming, at least in the short run, others believe that we need to do something drastic - now - to avoid environmental disaster.

Internal combustion engines are the big culprit here; they emit a variety of gasses into the air as they burn fuel, including carbon dioxide, one of the main causes of the greenhouse effect. Two automobile manufacturers, Toyota and Honda,
have created gas-electric hybrid vehicles - the Prius by Toyota, at this point the top-rated hybrid designed to have the lowest emissions, and several designs by Honda, including the newly engineered Honda Civic - smarter, sexier, more fuel-efficient, and with lower emissions, than its earlier versions. Ford offers a hybrid SUV in its new Escape, and even Lexus has come out with a luxury hybrid.

Many cars on the market today can burn a gasoline-ethanol blend, which can lower emissions. As a matter of fact, any gasoline-powered vehicle can tolerate blends of up to 10 percent ethanol, while many can use E85, an ethanol - gasoline blend containing 85 percent ethanol. The Dodge Caravan and the Chrysler Sebring are only two of many current model cars on the market which can burn E85.

One problem is that ethanol, particularly E85, is not readily available everywhere. Additionally, some critics have dismissed ethanol as impractical, claiming that ethanol requires more energy to create than it produces. As global political and environmental concerns heighten the demand for alternatives to petroleum-based fuels, scientists will continue to work on more efficient ways of producing ethanol.

Diesel cars can run on biodiesel, a combination of regular diesel fuel and vegetable oil - based fuel; some cars are being run on D100, which is 100 percent vegetable oil. Two concerns with biodiesel are, again, availability, and the emissions of nitrogen oxide, another culprit in the greenhouse effect. While biodiesel is promising, and has the added benefit of reducing dependence on foreign oil, any real effort to make biodiesel cars more popular will have to come with much stricter emissions standards which greatly reduce nitrogen oxide content.

An interesting irony is that the EPA’s mileage standards, while having been criticized as inaccurate, are actually a good way to gauge automobile emissions. That is because the EPA actually measures the emissions exiting the vehicle as a way to gauge automobile mileage. While a high MPG rating may not necessarily be accurate in terms of your gasoline usage, it’s actually a pretty good way to choose a car with lower emissions.

Global warming endangers more than polar bears; as the polar ice caps melt, the temperature of the oceans rises along with the sea level. Warmer ocean temperatures fuel hurricanes, making level three, four, five and hurricanes more frequent. And many millions of people, in Micronesia, Southeast Asia, and around the world live in areas literally inches above sea level; their habitat, and possibly their lives, are threatened by the rise in sea level accompanying global warming. While driving a car with low gas emissions isn’t going to completely solve the problem of global warming, it’s a contribution that any consumer shopping for a new car can decide to make.

Cleaning the Rims on Your Car; Using Your Home Pressure Washer

You may have noticed that cleaning rims on cars can be very tough, but not with your Ex-Cell pressure washer. Cleaning rims on your car is no longer a challenge your pressure washer will excel in getting the tough stains of brake dust and grease from your rims. If you do not have a home pressure washer yet, we recommend the Home Depot; Ex-Cell Pressure Washer.

To clean your rims really well you may wish to purchase some rim cleaner, there are several brands at auto supply companies and discount department stores. It only takes a little bit of product to clean rims with your Ex-Cell unit and you will be amazed at the results.

Follow this easy step by step method. First Step back about two feet and a little off to the side of the rim then Rinse the rim at close range, about 8 inches away while trying to spray in the cracks and from many angles. Spray the rim in circular motion following the out side of the rim and rinse the tire also, especially if you have white walls. Put the wand down and spray the Rim Cleaner on the tire and white walls, rinse the white wall this time from 5 inches away, but stand back. Hold the pressure washer wand and tip and follow the white wall around the tire. Next spray the rim with Rim Cleaner generously and allow ten seconds to pass then rinse the rim at about 8 inches away with the Ex-Cell Pressure Washer. Always clean the rims first and after you are done with the entire car rinse the rims slowly from a distance and dry.

The Keys to a Clean and Organized Car

When you look at your brand new car, you say to yourself, “I’m going to keep this one clean.” You mean it when you say it, but it hardly ever pans out that way. It doesn’t take long for a clean and organized car to go down the wrong road and end up a wreck.

Here are the keys to a clean and organized car:

- Vacuum the interior of your car regularly, at least once a month. Dirt and grit work the same way in your car’s carpet fibers as they do in your living room, they build up and breakdown the fibers. An extension cord and a shop vac will do the trick at home. Most gas stations and car washes have vacuums as well. A hand-held vacuum (or “dust buster”) works well on seats.

- Use a spray foam carpet cleaner and a rag on freshly vacuumed car floors to spot clean.

- Wash the exterior of your car once a month also. It’s easier to wash your car in the shade. Double check and make sure all windows are all the way up. Hose off the roof of your car first and then work your way down the sides. Be sure to get every inch nice and wet. Don’t forget the wheels and under the bumper and fender.

- Only use car wash to wash your car. I love my car too much to try any homemade solutions. Some car wash soaps are really pricey, but I always buy whatever’s cheapest. Apply soapy car wash with a sponge or rag, scrubbing as you go. Start at the top and work your way down. Stick to one area at a time. Rinse suds before they dry, then towel dry with a soft cloth or chamois to prevent spotting.

- After you’ve washed your car, polish the chrome. First, remove rust gently with a steel wool pad. Dab a wet sponge in baking soda and rub onto chrome. Let it stand 20 minutes, then rinse and buff dry with a rag. You’ll be amazed at how fabulous it looks!

- Baking soda also works wonders on removing splatters and grime from windshield, headlights, chrome and enamel using the same method as above.

- Keep plastic grocery bags in your car for trash, empty weekly or as needed.

- No car is complete without a container of baby wipes. Every Mom knows what miracle workers these things are. Great for quick and easy clean up of spills in the car and 1,000 other uses. Believe me; they’ll be put to good use in the car.

The real key and the most important factor in keeping a clean and organized car is to stay on top of it and not let it get out of control. Make an effort each day to remove anything from your car that does not belong in it. A car is a huge investment and should be treated with care. Don’t let your car become a wasteland. Get outside and get to work!

The Top 10 Dealership Scams Part 2

Car Dealers have numerous ways to scam a potential buyer. Let’s continue examining a few of them so you know what to look out for when making your next car purchase:

3. The Credit Score Scam
This scam is ridiculous at best. This is when the finance manager tells you that your credit score is lower than it really is so that they can get you for higher interest rates.

This scam is pulled on everyone; good or bad credit. This scam is easy to avoid. Just get your own copy of your credit report from Equifax.com, and bring it with you. It is really difficult to lie to you about your credit score if you have your own copy of it. If your paper and theirs doesn’t say the same thing, go somewhere else because that dealership is lying to you. Don’t forget to let them know it too because it’ll be nice to watch them squirm.

4. The Forced Warranty Scam
This is when the finance manager tells you that you are not eligible for the loan by the bank unless you pay an extra $2000 for a 2-3 year extended warranty.

This scam just doesn’t make sense. Basically the finance manager is telling you that the bank won’t trust you to pay the $20,000 loan for the car, but they will trust you if you pay even more money. That’s just stupid.

You can avoid this scam if you can force them to put it in writing that you “have” to pay the extended warranty in order to get the loan. That way you can bring a copy of the contract to your local State’s Attorney’s office to verify that the deal is valid. I can bet that the finance manager will change his tune pretty quickly.

5. The Dealer Prep Scam
Let me first let you know that cost is not only legal but very much common practice. I still refer to it as a scam because it is just another way for you to end up paying more money for the car.

Basically the dealer will tell you have to an extra $500 to cover the labor costs of the dealership’s 5-point inspection. You are paying for the time it took for the dealership to make sure that the car wouldn’t explode on you in the first week of owning it.

This check up that you are paying so much money for is for the dealership to remove plastic from the seats etc, vacuum the car out, and making sure that all of the fuses and fluids are ready to go. When factories deliver the new cars to the dealerships the cost of delivery and prep is already covered, so basically you are paying the dealership for work that they haven’t really done.

I swear they could get the car in perfectly ready to drive condition and put everything right back in it just so that they can make you pay the fee again. You can avoid this scam by simply asking the dealership to add an extra $500 credit to the deal to make sure you do not have to pay the money. If they refuse, you can then decide if the car is worth the money. If it is fine; buy the car, if not; go to another dealer that will remove the dealer prep costs.

Are You Ready to Take the Challenge of Modifying Your Mitsubishi Car

Okay, I know you love cars, but it doesn’t mean you have to buy a new one every now and then just to have something new and more exciting car to drive. Admit it, cars are valuable investments and I’m pretty sure you don’t want to spend your entire earnings for an expensive and flashy sports car.

By adding or replacing your stock Mitsubishi parts with aftermarket parts, you can breathe in new life to your auto and make your driving routine a lot more fun and exciting. Compared to buying a new car, installing aftermarket auto parts is less costly, so why suffer the burden of paying for a new car when you can get all the advantages of owning the latest model, say a 2006 Mitsubishi Galant, without getting thousands of dollars poorer.

Let your Mitsubishi car reveal who you are, personalize it so you can enjoy it more. You can make the car’s interior more conducive for long drives and more pleasing to the eyes every time you slip into the driver or passenger seat by replacing your old Mitsubishi carpet and Mitsubishi floor matsor by adding some interior lights and other accessories.

You can change the way your Mitsubishi looks by replacing exterior auto parts as well. These parts give others a lasting impression about your car so make them attractive as much as possible. Also, if you are going to resell your car in the future, you have to pay attention even to slightest details in your car’s exterior, including the Mitsubishi door handle, Mitsubishi headlight covers and Mitsubishi hub caps. These parts can make or unmake an impression about your car, too. Wouldn’t it be frustrating if a customer rejects your offer only because of a broken door handle or some unsightly scratches on your Mitsubishi tail lights?

Redesigning or modifying your car is fun and challenging at the same time. It may require you to spend some cash but think about the benefits of this over buying a new car, which may not be your priority yet at the moment. Take the challenge, simple things like placing a new set of Mitsubishi wheel covers on your car can go a long way!
